I can't give solutions to all of life's problems,

doubts, or fears

But I can listen to you,

and together we will search for answers.

I can't change your past

with all it's heartache and pain,

nor the future with its untold stories.

But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can't keep your feet from stumbling.

I can only offer my hand

that you may grasp it and not fall.

Your joys, triumphs, successes,

and happiness are not mine;

Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;

I can only support you, encourage you,

and help you when you ask.

I can't prevent you from falling away from our friendship,

I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting,

But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces

and put them back in place.

I can't tell you who you are.

I can only love you and be your friend...

~Path of Thorns and Cotton~

In the time I spent walking the path of a lifetime,

I thread the thorns of life, aching and bleeding

I submit to the pain as if it was natural,

I was kept numb by the tears that flow.

The years I spent goes on and on,

In the darkness of a life I kept hoping

Quietly waiting for a sun that will shine

And its rays to give me brightness and warmth.

The day as I was about to give up

I saw a flicker of light to follow

A guiding light that I need to go

To bring me out of a darkened tunnel

As I near I saw the end of the dim

You lay the cotton for me to walk on

Ease the pain of each prickly thorn

Waiting to grab my hand and hold on

My path of from thorns to cotton....

~Thoughts~

Worries do to the thoughts that plague me,

Dreaming of the nights past transgressions.

I awoke to the soreness brought on by the night before.

I love him, the only problem is does he love me too?

Will his ambivalent mind decide,

And welcome me as the one he loves.

Does he know how much I love him?

Does he care?

Will our hearts be able to face the war ahead

The war of our fears, hearts, and love.

Does he love me??

Can he love me??

Will he love me??

Or does he simply displace it as just merely a friend.

Thoughts plague my heart and my mind of the one I can't help but love.

And the one I can't and don't want to live without...YOU

~Just A Dream~

Like a Dream you had come to me

The time when my heart was torn apart recklessly.

You listened as I talked,

Wishing I was beside you when you walk.

With time my pain seemed to fade away

And slowly, a new happiness seemed wanting to stay.

As I look into your eyes, there’s this feeling I fought

I know I did, but their magnetism pulled me to you.

With each passing day you became more a part of me

And like a foolish little dreamer I called you my Destiny.

But I awoke one day and found you gone

Leaving me with a heart - bruised and broken.

I look back now, as I did back then

Trying to figure out what made this happen.

Then suddenly the answer became so clear to see –

You were but a dream that had visited me...

~Looking Afar~

People always look for the best,

And when we finally see it

We take it for granted

Expecting to find a better one.

Not knowing that it was the best

And meant for us!

in the center of my heart, there is a room -

a haven safe and strong, to heal the wounds from the past.

i choose to share it with you,

that is if the choice was only mine to make.

but you have to decide what you want too.
